Ngong Road Children’s Foundation operates various programs with the aim of providing a supportive community to our children so that we can increase their chance of success and the ability to transform their lives.
The following are the programs under the NRCF supportive community
- Caseworker Support. The program’s relationship with each child is managed by a caseworker who touches base with each child at least weekly on Saturdays and who visits their home twice a year and school annually. Learn more
- Saturday Programme. Each week we hold the Saturday Programme, consisting of fun activities surrounding a wholesome meal. Learn more
- August Camp. Camp is a chance for the children to get out of their setting and to spend time out of the slums and in a healthy, stimulating environment focused on learning and fun. Learn more
- Library. Today, our library features almost 1,400 volumes of children’s literature and it’s available to children at any time our office is open, including Saturdays. Learn more
- Computer Lab. In 2011 we launched a computer lab to enhance our student’s understanding of keyboarding skills, basic software packages and use of the internet. Learn more
- Life Skills. In 2018 we launched a new program called Life Skills to address social, psychological, cognitive, and attitudinal factors. The students in high school are trained during each of their school holidays ( April, August, and late November or early December). Learn more
- SRH (Sexual Reproductive Health)– In 2018, We also launched the SRH program where 10 post-secondary students were trained by Planned Parenthood Global to offer SRH education to their peers as Youth Peer Providers. Learn more
- Career Mentorship. NRCF has developed a career development program that will guide students towards sustainable careers. This is achieved through organizing workshops and inviting career mentors. Learn more
