Creating Techies

All jobs now require some level of digital literacy, hence we invest in digital literacy and technical programs for our beneficiaries through our dedicated facilities (Elimu Hub and Blockchain Lab).

The Journey of Techies

Basic Computer Training to Get Students Started
This foundational training introduces young learners to the world of technology. The focus is on helping children become comfortable with using computers, learning how to type, and accessing the internet responsibly. We also include fun, creative activities using tools like Paint and Canva, allowing children to express themselves artistically while gaining confidence with digital tools.

  • Computer System Typing Skills
  • Internet Access
  • Creative Sessions to Encourage Artistic Expression (Paint, Canva)

Basic Computer Applications for Upper Primary
At this stage, students build on their early exposure by developing practical skills in widely used computer applications. They learn how to use Microsoft Office for schoolwork and projects, manage files effectively, and conduct advanced internet research. This training ensures that by the time they transition to secondary school, students have the digital literacy required for academic success.

  • Microsoft Office Suite
  • Advanced Internet Access
  • File Management & Documentation

Programming that Nurtures Future Innovators
Young learners are introduced to coding through fun, interactive programs like Scratch.

By working on simple projects, they develop problem-solving skills, logical thinking, and creativity.

This stage gives them the foundation to pursue more advanced programming in the future.

  • Scratch programming (simple projects)
  • MakeCode for Hummingbird Robotics
  • Alice 3

Science Mill Camp to Build STEM Knowledge
We are collaborating with Science Mill (an organization dedicated to fostering a love of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) in young minds) to conduct a one-week STEM training camp at our campus.

Students are exposed to hands-on learning activities, cutting-edge technology, and expert coaching from Science Mill educators. Our students experiment with robots, coding, scientific experiments, and creative problem-solving. This exposure enriches our kids’ educational experiences and provides them with valuable skills that are becoming increasingly important in today’s business world.

TechMate Programme to Launch Alumni Into the Digital Frontier
A hands-on internship program where graduates gain real-world experience in areas like digital marketing, software development, web technologies, and emerging fields such as blockchain and AI. It provides three to six months of digital marketing and advanced programming skills training that not only enhances employability but also broadens their horizons in the digital realm. Since its inception in 2021, over 20 students have gone through the program, with most securing job opportunities within three months of completing their internship. TechMates have become freelancers for Ngong Road Children’s Foundation and Karibu Loo in Nairobi, Friends of Ngong Road in Minneapolis, and for our strategic partner, Lido Nation Foundation (a blockchain technology advocacy group), giving them vital real-world experience.

  • Digital Marketing – SEO, Social Media Management, Google Ads
  • Software Development – GitHub, SQL, Salesforce
  • Web Development – WordPress, PHP, Laravel, Java, CSS, Vue
  • Blockchain Development, Machine Learning & AI

Dedicated Facilities to Support Learning

Our two new facilities, Elimu Hub and Blockchain Lab, are centers of innovation. These dedicated spaces offer uninterrupted access to resources and foster technical exploration and growth for our students.

Powered by solar energy, our tech facilities ensure consistent and reliable access to technology. We avoid the problems caused by Nairobi’s inconsistent power supply and provide students with an uninterrupted learning experience.

“To us, technical education is not just a program, it’s a transformative journey that equips students with the skills, knowledge, and mindset necessary to thrive in any future career.”
