STEM Bootcamps

Our STEM Bootcamps introduce young learners to hands-on science, technology, engineering, and mathematics activities that spark curiosity, creativity, and innovation. These bootcamps provide students with the opportunity to explore problem-solving, teamwork, and practical application of digital skills in a fun and engaging environment.

2024 – Grade 7 & 8 STEM Bootcamp

In 2024, we expanded the bootcamp to include both Grade 7 and 8 students. The program built upon the foundation of the previous year, introducing more advanced projects and fostering collaboration among peers.

Students deepened their STEM journey by tackling real-world challenges across science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. In biology, they explored ecosystems and biodiversity, investigating ecosystem engineers. In chemistry, they experimented with spherification while creating edible “Rescue Rations” and examined water pollution. Physics and engineering came to life as students harnessed wind energy with turbine prototypes. Technology and computer science skills grew through hands-on coding with the Micro:bit and Hummingbird Robotics Kits, where teams programmed sensors, motors, and even built battle-ready robots.

By the end of the camp, students had not only gained exposure to careers ranging from ecologists to robotics engineers, but also built critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, and leadership skills while envisioning their own future in STEM.

2023 – Grade 7 STEM Bootcamp

In 2023, we launched our first STEM Bootcamp for Grade 7 students. This camp focused on foundational STEM concepts, encouraging students to explore technology and develop critical thinking skills through interactive activities.

Students gained hands-on exposure to coding and robotics by designing spy gadgets and robotic agents, explored biology through owl pellet dissections and insect investigations, experimented with chemistry by creating ice cream, polymers, and solving soil contamination mysteries, and applied engineering skills to build ziplines, spy rovers, and biomimicry-inspired prototypes. Alongside digital creativity and problem-solving challenges, these experiences built confidence across STEM—science, technology, engineering, and mathematics—while nurturing teamwork, leadership, and innovation.

Why STEM Bootcamps Matter

  • Inspire curiosity and innovation in young learners
  • Provide hands-on experiences with technology and science
  • Strengthen teamwork, creativity, and problem-solving skills
  • Prepare students for future academic and career opportunities in STEM fields
